The IS420PSCAH1B is a Serial Communication Module created by General Electric as part of their Mark VIe system, which is a Speedtronic system.  Speedtronic systems have been used for decades to manage and control industrial turbine systems,  such as hydro, gas, and steam turbine systems.  

The IS420PSCAH1B is the more complex of two PSCA modules available for the Mark VIe systems. It contains a compatible BPPC processor board that supports ControlST V 04.07 version or later.  This board includes six serial transceiver channels. These can be configured individually to comply with different standards like RS-232, RS-485 half-duplex, and RS-422.   The other Serial Communication module that is available is an IS220PSCA module that includes a BPPB board.
